WHAT KEY IS IT ANYWAY? (Part 1)

Whether you're jamming with friends,  trying to learn a song by ear,  or coming up with part ideas for  a song of your own. . . an understanding of keys (melodies and related chords) is essential.  Here's a quick,  easy tip for determining the key of a song. When determining the key of a song,  determine an answer to the following question:   WHAT IS THE LAST CHORD OF THE SONG?   This chord will "usually"  will be identicle to the key the song is in.  For example,  If the the last chord of the song is an E,   the song is likely in the key of E Major.  This is a trick, and is not 100% effective,  but it'll get results most of the time.

The following example goes through a series of chords,  the last chord of the song is a 'G.'  The song is in the key of G Major.
