I'm always looking for new employment opportunities. I make my living TEACHING and PLAYING music. I've been teaching private and group lessons since 1989. It's a career I enjoy very much. To supplement this income, I've been freelancing my musical abilities out to various acts over the years. I've played many different kinds on music: Jazz, Rock, Funk, Country, Bluegrass, Blues, R&B, Reggae... I enjoy it all. I also do studio work... guitar, bass, & mandolin. My experience in performing these many different styles music enhances my teaching; the skills I learned as a result of teaching enhances my playing... one career nourishes the other.

Teaching Opportunities

I'm looking to branch out in more classroom teaching, clinics, workshops, etc. Teaching organized classes in popular music performance (from the "swing" music of the 1930's to the present day musical trends). Currently, I teach all styles of guitar and the electric bass, as well as "band" workshops ("how to play songs together" in any style: jazz, alternative, funk, etc.). Churches, schools, colleges, community groups, etc. can all benefit from my teaching methods. I can create a class based on the needs of whoever's involved. Playing Opportunities

  1. These days, I'm "gigging" mostly on bass. The kinds of gigs I'm looking for are in the following styles Blues, Funk, R&B, Reggae, & Jazz with little (or no) rehearsal expected (I'm a quick learner).
  2. I also play the mandolin, so acoustic gigs are welcome.
  3. Recently, I've been doing more and more studio work. I LOVE THIS JOB!! My services as a guitarist (acoustic/electric/rhythm/lead), bassist, and mandolin player are all yours if the payment is right! All styles!
  4. Since this is how I make my living, playing for free is not an option. I have a family to support.
