Group Lessons! My classes are planned out 4-8 weeks in advance (depending on the length and nature of the class). With each class, you get an hour weekly lesson, a book, a weekly syllabus, a weekly "to do" list, and a network of like-minded people to play and learn with.

 

I Need Your Help!

As far class titles and content goes, I have a ton of ideas. But I NEED YOUR HELP! As educators, you know what kinds of classes your students can benefit from. I can work within and outside your current system. As a guitar, bass, and rhythm section instructor, I can offer many classes that will make your Jazz Bands sound more... like Jazz!

Titles such as:

• Sightreading--class that teaches the fundamentals of reading (historically, this is a weakness for guitar players). For guitar and bass.
• Jazz Chord Lab/Sightreading--Building a jazz chord vocabulary by learning classic jazz progressions: blues, rhythm changes, standards, etc.
• Jazz Guitar 101--An introduction to jazz guitar, geared for players who know nothing about the style.
• Rhythm Sectioning--Rhythm Section styles ranging from Count Basie to James Brown... Latin styles as well! For Guitar, Bass & Drums.
• Bass Improvisation--learning "groove improvisation" in jazz, latin, and funk styles.
