Reactionary Guitar is defined as the art reacting to the music you're surrounded by... and all capable musicians have this "reactionary" skill. Campbell's instructor, Rod Goelz will lead this one hour discussion of Reactionary Guitar, as it applies to both rhythm and lead guitar stylings of many of today's current artists.

Learn improvisation through FUNK music. This workshop deals with easy principles of improvisation AND funk music. Trumpeter, composer and clincian Joe McDowell will lead this discussion on FUNK improv.  In addition, the group HARD LOVE (and others??) will be on hand to discuss "groove improvisation" ideas within rhythm section instruments (guitar,bass & drums).

5:00-???  SONGWRITING 101 (interactive workshop with members of Lucid Dreamers)

How does someone go about writing a song?  There's no one more suitable to lead this interactive workshop than the members of LUCID DREAMERS. In this exciting workshop, you'll learn about the creative process of songwriting first hand. . . and leave with a newly written song.  All songs/fragments will be digital recorded.

Rock Band Arranging (with Lucid Dreamers)

After their Songwriting 101 workshop LUCID DREAMERS will giving a talk on their own creative process. They'll discuss many things,  among them: the role of each instrument--guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, & voices--within a "rock band" setting; the influence of various auxiliary percussion instruments has on their sound,  the importance of improvisation in the songwriting process, arranging tips, writing tips,  tips to protect your voice. . . a much more. . . concluding with a final performance.
