CAGED SCALES
Each one of these movable chord forms has a parallel major scale. . . added notes which fall between the chord tones. The represent the five basic scales every aspiring lead guitarist must come to terms with, that is if their goal is to get beyond the basic pentatonic type of lead playing. The five scale fingerings enable you to play in any key, anywhere on the neck. . . . a new finger every 4 or 5 frets. Start learning these scales by practicing them in the keys of C, G, D, A, E, B & F (what I refer to as the BASIC ROCK KEYS). Eventually learn them in every key.
